With the backing of her community and after much thoughtful consideration, we are excited to announce Galena’s candidacy to represent District 3 as San Miguel County Commissioner. Vote for common ground and a bright future on November 5th 2024!

The Common Ground Candidate

Galena is a fifth generation Coloradan, Telluride High School alumni, small business entreprenuer, recreation industry leader and graduate of the Montana State University School of Agriculture. From mesa pastures and wetlands, to down valley watersheds, to the bustle of Colorado Avenue, Galena personifies a big picture perspective on the nuances that make our community, regional economy and shared ecosystem thrive. 

She has made a livelihood in our county for nearly three decades, observing what works and what needs to be fixed. For the last decade, she has carved out a niche with her husband and two boys on a small spread of acreage on Wright's Mesa. During this time, Galena has served on local non-profit boards tasked with finding synergy between regional agriculture production, food security and the success of small business owners. She currently serves the community on the San Miguel County Planning Commision, while balancing the demands of family finance and raising children. This has helped shape a heart for common ground in our community and a vision of a bright future for San Miguel County. 

Every generation has to take responsibily for maintaining community culture and infrastructure that serve the greater good, while mending what is broken. Galena's life trajectory has placed her in this moment to face the challenges ahead and lead our generational work.
